The University of Reading is a global university ranked in the top 1% of universities in the world. Established in 1892 we enjoy a world-class reputation for teaching, research and enterprise.
Our record on student experience, research-led teaching and our graduate employability is excellent and we are committed to maintaining a supportive, challenging and high-quality experience for our students.
With 17,040 students from 141 different nationalities and nearly 4,000 members of staff Reading maintains a community atmosphere - the distinctive student experience and provision of close student support makes it a great place to study.
At Reading, we have around 200 different courses on offer spanning the arts, humanities, business, social science and sciences. Whichever programme you choose, you’ll become part of a supportive learning environment where staff and students work closely together.
All our undergraduate degrees have a placement option available to ensure you can gain valuable experience whilst studying with us. In 2011, 92% of our graduates were in work, voluntary work or further study within six months, above the sector average.
At Reading we are understandably proud of our campus. Voted one of the best green spaces in the UK and the most highly-rated university 320 acres of green parkland give a relaxed feel to the University. A central hub of key buildings form the heart of the University where students meet and socialise.
Watch these videos in which the students, who are all the first in their families to go to University, talk about what prompted them to apply and how they've benefited from this experience to date.
